Emulsifiers for cosmetics
Emulsifiers are substances that reduce surface tension between two phases and form a stable film (interface) between them. Emulsifiers consist of a hydrophilic part and a lipophilic part. An emulsion is a system composed of two immiscible liquids, one of which is dispersed in the other as droplets.
There are two traditional types of emulsions: oil-in-water (O/W), where oil (dispersed phase) is dispersed in water (continuous phase); and water-in-oil (W/O), where water (dispersed phase) is dispersed in oil (continuous phase).
Formulations are becoming increasingly complex, and Lemmel offers a full range of emulsifiers that ensure stability and compatibility with a wide variety of cosmetic ingredients. We offer light and more viscous emulsifiers to create new and innovative textures for all kinds of applications (creams, serums, sunscreens, masks, etc.).
